1. Count and Compare!
Choose two food quantity cards and place them on opposite sides of the swamp.
Count the objects on each card and decide which group has more, fewer, or the same amount.
Place the correct Chompy cutout between the cards.
2. Number Chomp!
Choose two number cards from 1–10.
Children read the numbers, compare their values, and select the correct symbol.
For example:
2 < 5
8 > 3
4 = 4
Encourage children to say the complete comparison aloud!
3. Big or Small?
Use the matching food cards to compare objects by size.
Children identify which item is bigger or smaller and position Chompy’s mouth toward the larger object.
This activity develops visual discrimination and descriptive vocabulary.
4. Opposites Challenge!
Compare familiar objects such as:
- Elephant and mouse
- Rock and feather
- Tree and seedling
- Beach ball and marble
- Bicycle and tricycle
Children discuss differences in size, weight, height, and other observable properties before choosing the appropriate Chompy cutout.
5. Chompy’s Mixed-Up Swamp!
Mix the food quantity cards and number cards together!
Children randomly select two cards, compare them, and place the correct Chompy between them.
This activity combines number recognition, counting, comparison, and independent problem-solving.
