Hello there, curious ones! I’m Vera, a young Velociraptor with beautiful feathers that shimmer blue- green in the sunlight! I have bright amber eyes that can spot the tiniest movements, and special curved claws on my feet that help me run as quick as lightning!

Unlike what you might have seen in some movies, we Velociraptors are covered in feathers! My primary feathers are a gorgeous iridescent blue-green that shifts to turquoise when I move, with a lighter seafoam color underneath. My family says my feathers are extra shimmery, which makes me feel very special!

I live with my mother and father in a cozy feather-lined nest. They’re teaching me everything I need to know about our world. My dad always says, “Knowledge is as important as speed!” and my mom adds that a wise Velociraptor understands all the dinosaurs around them.

Recently, my parents took me on an amazing adventure to meet all the different dinosaurs who share our territory. We saw Edmontosaurus with their duck-like bills and flat teeth for grinding plants, Parasaurolophus with colorful head crests that make trumpet sounds (nature’s orchestra!), and Ankylosaurus with impressive armor plates and powerful club tails that can swing faster than even we can run!

We also spotted Hypsilophodon moving together like a flock of birds (smart little ones!), and Plateosaurus who can walk on either two legs or four, depending on what they’re doing. Each dinosaur has its own special features and ways of surviving.

Every night, I curl up in our feather-lined nest, my head full of wonderful new knowledge about my dinosaur neighbors. I can’t wait to learn more each day! Being clever, quick, and curious helps me understand our amazing prehistoric world.
